(Reuters) – Indianapolis Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez will appear in the game against the Houston Texans on Sunday, less than three weeks after surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.

The 26-year-old, who signed with the Colts in 2017 after not being drafted in 2017, announced his diagnosis on Nov. 30 and went under the knife a day later.

He missed the Colts wins against Houston and Las Vegas but returned to training earlier this week and is expected to start kicking and stabbing again on Sunday.

"We are so happy that he had a good week and that he was up to speed very quickly," said Colts coach Frank Reich.

"We are confident and excited that he will be back in the line-up."
