What is a Marketing Funnel

Apr 6

What is a marketing funnel and why should every marketer online make one?

It's a strategy for marketing that you use to persuade prospective customers to purchase your products. It's a sales method that lets someone browse your website in search of information that solves their problem. You will be able to establish a relationship with each person by using certain tools.

This will allow you to understand the needs and wants of each user. This in turn will push you to provide the best possible information for all users. If you can gain trust from a visitor they're more likely to purchase your products. The customer becomes the visitor.

Many customers turn into loyal customers over time and are more likely to purchase every product on your website. A marketing funnel describes the steps that are required to convert a person who comes to your website into a client who will return to you for future purchases.

This is the goal that should be achieved. A properly created funnel can achieve this very easily.

Your efforts to market are grabbing people's attention, and drawing them into your funnel. After they have completed the form on your PERSONAL lead capture page, they will be entered into the funnel. I use the word "personal" because no one will ever opt-in on your business lead capture page. They want to be a leader and not a business.

The page for lead capture acts as an entry point to the funnel. Clicking the "Sign Up now" and "Enter Here" buttons will open a new realm of marketing via network.

The best part is that they have qualified themselves to be able to do it. It's their choice. You haven't sold them anything, except that you're a leader, mentor and someone who will show them how to increase leads and also more cash in their businesses.

This is the way a typical marketing channel works.

You can provide an item for free to the "front-end" to draw and qualifie people interested in your products. To get access to the free product, people must sign up (also known as opt-in) and give their email address and name, and in turn they will be added to your list of email subscribers.

Now, you've got those contacts on your list of email addresses and can send other related offers to them that they might be interested in.

After sign-up for the free offer they will be taken to a page with a low price offer or what's known as trip wire offers. This is where they move into the "back-end of the funnel."

If they purchase the bargain priced offer then they will be taken to another related offer at a higher price (normally called an upsell). If the buyer purchases the higher-priced offer, they will be taken to another related product at a higher price. The list could continue for a long time...
